A Couple of Bakes!

Sorry for the late posting guys! had a very very busy & tiring week however i did bake without fail just that i am late in posting them! As its was a late night baking these 2 cakes thus the texture and appearance were kinda of shabby i fell asleep at each baking interval lol darn how tired i was but because it was meant to be given out i still had to finish baking these...

Chocolate Stout Cake the wonder combination of stout beer and chocolate makes my heart jump a beat never had i bake with beer before though there are countless of beer cakes recipes around i never got around baking them until i saw this at PigPig's Corner. Although i have no idea how the cake texture should be like i'm guessing from the photos in the magazine it must be very moist but mine came out crumbly with no hint of stout beer and it tasted more chocolaty instead. The responses from my friends were good they said it taste more like brownie lol... Original recipe comes with peanut butter frosting but i omitted it no energy to do =p please have a look at the following bloggers' blogs for the recipe.

I had mentioned that i love light cheesecake with any variation and this recipe was taken from Alex Goh's Fantastic Cheesecake with only a slight modification and i think something went wrong somewhere my cake was too moist but heck it's still delicious!

i changed the chocolate paste to strawberry paste instead and i think i overmixed the 2 batters thus the swirl pattern can't been seen.

Recipe could be found here please take a look at their Feather Light Cheesecake variation they are almost too pretty to be eaten!

I've been eyeing the stout cake for quite some time too.

So tired and yet you want to bake. Then these two are true labour of passion.

I have actually book-marked this but have yet to do it. The strawberry color makes it look very sweet.
