Dulce De Leche Pound Cake

Dulce De Leche is not a stranger to many of us, the taste the fragrance made us fell head over heels with it. Well most of us love it my family are the first i ever came across who says they don't like the taste and smell so i do not make DDL as often as i like. For those who had never done a DDL before here's the link i found on Wiki its has a series of DDL making methods which i find it very useful.

The recipe adds in the eggs only at the last step, that's something new to me haha! The cake turn out soft fluffy a definite recipe keeper!

P.S Lena if you are reading this, i wana to say thank you very much for your heart shapes silicon molds! I love your gifts!

I'm submitting this to the Aspiring Bakers #4 Love In The Air (Feb 2011) hosted by Ellena of Cusine Paradise. More details could be found here.

And lastly here's the photo of my bratty sister who insisted on taking the photos with my DDL hearties and insisted that i post it here so here you go!

And above is the picture we took during cny!

Dulce De Leche Pound Cake
(adapted and modified from Pichet Ong's The Sweet Spot Condense Milk Pound Cake)

Ingredients

250g unsalted butter, room temperature
240g top flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
106g castor sugar, reduced to 80g
1 tsp vanilla extract
239g Dulce De Leche
3 large eggs

Method
  1. Preheat oven to 160C. Butter and flour a 9" x 5" loaf pan, set aside.
  2. Sift flour and baking powder together, set aside.
  3. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add DDL and vanilla and mix until well combined.
  4. Add the flour mixture and beat until no traces of flour remains.
  5. Beat in eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Scrape batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake in preheated oven for 60mins or until a skewer test comes out clean.
  7. Cool completely on wired rack before unmolding, serve as desire.

You can never go wrong with DDL. My husband grew up eating it and they will spread it on anything ha ha.. I like the texture of this cake. Soft, moist with fine crumbs.

Spear/Jean if you got a slow cooker at home use it to make DDL is a breeze! just set it on low for cook for 8hrs! you don't even have to look at it!

quizzine make it then bake it! haha!

That's the first time I saw a heart shaped cupcake. It's adorable. The texture also looks really nice. There aren't any unsightly holes. :) Btw, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Are you a teenager? Your sister looks very young. When I first chanced upon your blog I wasn't sure if you were a teenager or not.
